--- Quote ---MOD: A one stop spot for game templates.

This is a place for all members to post their games to share with the community.  I would encourage members who have posted game templates previously, to move them here so they can gain the views and downloads they deserve without being dropped down the list due to new threads.

Put one game and related attachments per post.  In that post, please put a description including, how many questions, some of the basic rules, any other special materials or instructions as needed.

All thank yous and comments will be split off into this thread periodically

I'm not sure who passed along this idea to me, but it's been a complete success in my 4,5,6 classes. It's a lot like th bomb game- Make a grid, hyperlink it, questions etc etc.

But the twist is in that you start every team with 4 hearts. A correct answer nets you one of 3 icons: A bomb (Lose a heart), a Heart (Gain a heart) or a Laser (Pick another team to lose a heart). They LOVE that there's some interactivity and something video game-y about it. I've uploaded a template I've been using the last month or so, I also have a winter/Christmas themed one I'll upload tomorrow.

Typhoon is mainly a review game that I heard about from other teachers.  There's a grid of questions where a student from a group picks a square to which there will be a question to answer and a corresponding point awarded if correct.  However under some of the squares there could be the word "TYPHOON" which allows a team to choose another team to lose all their points.

To be honest I haven't even played this game yet but I know my students will probably like this as they liked a similar game that was found on www.eatyourkimchi.com called "Kaboom!"

I decided to make my own ppt template and it took quite a while to figure out the animations!  If you want to change the # of Typhoons, point denominations etc, you can move the Typhoon icons around and write in the text box under them.  Be careful when moving stuff around as all of the Typhoon icons and individual square names (A1, A2) are to be together at all times or else the animations will get out of order!

Oh right now the Typhoons are under: A3, B1, B5, C3, D1, and E1

Now to make up the corresponding questions!

silly adaptation of the bomb game, it's got the questions from my "I'm your new teacher" lesson but they're easiy changed. elementary kids go bananas for it, I taught them the fiddy finger point and made them all shout BRRRRRRAP whenever he popped up. Now they all go brrrrap at me in the corridor haha. They've never heard of him though so I just called him "the BRRRRAP man".
