Dear Red Wings,

Stop licking hockey pucks and eating ice shavings.

It's looking quite good for Vancouver, isn't it? The VPD are going to have a busy month ahead of them.

How are you guys viewing it? The CBC informs me I can only stream it inside Canada.

Woooooo, Canucks to the SCF! Just too bad I'm here in Korea and can't watch with my friends back home...but still super pumped even if I have to watch the games alone.

Where are you going to watch the Stanley Cup Finals? CANUCKS!!
« Reply #31 on: May 25, 2011, 05:50:34 PM »
Wow! The Canucks are in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994! I listened to that on the radio because my family didn't have a TV.

This post is for all you hockey fan teachers (especially Canucks fans). Where can we ban together to cheer on the Nucks to the Cup! I'm so bummed that most of the games are from 10am here in Korea (I have class, and I am constantly checking the score on me smartphone)..I'm also sad that I'm not in my home province of BC right now..

I figure if the Finals start on Sat, Canuck fans will be able to catch maybe Game 1 and 5 on the weekends. Where are all the Canuck fans gonna assemble? Shall I blow the conch? Rocky Mountain House? Big Rock?

I should take one of my vacation days to watch a game 7..if it ever got there.
GO CANUCKS GO!!  :o

ps. I should make a lesson plan all about hockey.

I had it on nhl.com's ice-tracker on the computer in my English room. The running dictation game I was doing was so noisy that hardly anyone even noticed the loud 'YES!' that came from the corner right in the middle of it.

Very great addition to the conversation. I am sure we are all happy for you. Nevertheless, both Big Rock and Rocky Mountain are good choices.

As much as I would like to call in sick in order to watch the games.. I can't. But I do leave my iPhone on my desk with the game streaming on it so I can get a glance whenever possible!

New teacher in Suwon here!  If you could tell me where (more than just the name of the place) I can watch the game on weekends with like-minded people, that would be great =D

But those places are going to be packed. In the Daegu area of course the Holy Grill is the obvious choice but if it's just stupidly packed I bet we could get Billibow (a Korean sports bar down the road) to put it on for us. They did for the FA Cup a few years back.

SInchon - Yaletown is owned by some guys from Vancouver and they'll be showing the games.
            - Beer O'Clock

Itaewon - Sam Ryan's and Rocky Mountain Tavern will be showing the games.

These places will show the games in the evening so as long as you avoid the score during the day it's a good time to watch the games at a bar.

Or you can buy the NHL online package for the finals and watch the games live at work or when you get home.

I'm not sure how far Suwon is from Seoul. But here are the directions to Big Rock. It's in Gangnam and they also have a brunch buffet on the weekend, I think. The owner is a Flames fan, but he'll show the Finals.

Big Rock Brewery: http://www.seoulgrid.com/blog/best-beer-in-big-rock-gangnam-seoul/
(The map is at the bottom of the page)

I've never been to Rocky Mountain. All I know is that it's in Itaewon.
