Hey Dayle, you have a background in programming or something related? :)  Just curious since you comment your posts with #, which is neat.  I do the same on linux with bash scripts.

Heres what I use for directions around a city. I have a few phrases which we learn together, (take the2nd/3rd...When you see the.....If you see a ___ youve gone too far) then identify landmarks one by one.

For the final part I use  a map. For the map I split the kids into teams and get them to race to write directions to and from places on the map. With th lower teams I let them take turns and walk their route on the board as tehy direct me.

I also tell a story as Im doing it about why Im going to each place which includes me burning my house down, scoring a goal from the crowd at a football stadium, getting arrested and visiting the hospital after almost dying from fan death

I dont really use any hand outs as I im told to focus on speaking and not bother too much with writing but it would be easy enough to make one.

Hope this helps someone

Both of those ppts and the worksheet were a great help.  Thanks so much for putting them up here :)
