This is a recycled Pass the Ball game for "How Many Apples?"

I have them pass the ball up and down the row in preset order so that every student has a chance to go.

Hello!
I'm having an open class in 2 weeks for 3rd grade. we use the government textbook and I need something really creatibe and Amazing for a counting lesson using fruit. Any ideas? I would like to make some kind of interactive game...any thoughts? Thanks alot!

I am doing the same topic for my open class!!
This is what I have planned to do with my co-teacher:

Make Furit sticks (kebabs): You can tell students how many apples, oranges etc. to put on their sticks, then at the end you can ask the students how many e.g. pears they have on their sticks.

We are going to make a video at the Supermarket in the fruit section using some of the other teachers from school. The teachers will be getting fruit

A PowerPoint quiz about the video of the teachers at the Supermarket.

Here is a board game I made for this lesson (fruit and animals to review lesson 2)

Also an up/down guessing game (again using words they have already learned in previous lessons). Students guess how many and I answer up/down. If they guess on the first try they get 3 points, 2nd try 2 points and 3rd try 1 point.

I will also play bingo for the first period with numbers 1-10 and sing this song too.

As I was searching for some videos on YouTube, I found this intro video for the lesson by Fiest. Apparently she appeared on Sesame Street and redid her 1 2 3 4 song into a counting video. Doesn't really count above 4 but really cute and only 2 1/2 minutes long...

This is what I'll be using for periods 1 and 2....
period 1 is an intro ppt and then a team/ whiteboard game to look at the key sentences and period 2 is another pass the ball game...

Practice for the key vocabulary and expressions. Plus a shopping cart activity where students draw different numbers of different fruit then walk around the room asking each other 'How many?'.

My class LOVED this song. Just make sure to make them sing once before they stand up, or they will just be jumping all over the place and not singing anything.

simple powerpoint game using, "How many...". divide class into teams (two if you have 20 or less students, three or more if you have a large class). create two sets of numbers, 0-9 (with two 1's for 11) on sheets of paper, and hand each student a number. use the powerpoint to ask how many for each fruit, and the student in the team to stand up first with their number gets the point. have students repeat the lesson's key words, "_______, please. How many_______? 1-20 _______ please!"
