Here is the English Guide for Grade 6, Chapter 2.  If you look under the specific thread for English guides, I have written instructions as to how you can create your own PDF files for the guides.  It takes just a couple minutes.

2011 NEW TEXTOOK FLASHCARDS / PICTURE CARDS
« Reply #21 on: March 10, 2011, 06:54:56 pm »
I have attached a PPT with all the flashcards / picture cards for each unit - they're a little different from those of 2010. Please feel free to use them when making PPTs. Hope they're useful.

.: I know everyone is WAAAAY past this lesson but I thought I might share anyway. I had an open class for 4th grade recently for Lesson 13 and I made a short film to use (in place of the Look & Listen videos). I hope it'll be helpful to you guys too (maybe for like next year). here's the link to the video:

http://www.vimeo.com/16985003

I think it's useable for 5th and 6th grade's "Where is ...?" lessons.
4th = lesson 13
5th = lesson 5
6th = lesson 2

And this is a much older video that another teacher asked me to help with. It's more directly focused at the 6th grade level:

Here is a worksheet activity that can be used instead of the Let's Play (3).  The students get the map and have to cut out the pictures on the second sheet.  The teacher then reads the direction sheet as the students glue on each location.  Afterward, you can check the answers with the students by using the powerpoint.  It gives each location in order of the directions so you can say them at the same time.  Also available for Windows 97-2003.  Enjoy!
Is this made from Minneapolis? I dont know any other Lake Calhoun

How much attention is everyone giving to prepositions in this lesson?  I see the book gives about 4 throughout the chapter, but I thought I might introduce some more.  I don't want to overwhelm them, however it seems to be an appropriate chapter to introduce some more.  My students are at an intermediate level (a couple are much higher).

Simple Game for practicing directions & Prepositions from the first period:

Left, right, straight, behind, next to, between

As the students to stand up and explain to them that when you say:
Left - they shuffle to the left
Right - they shuffle to the right
Straight - they step forward
Behind - they turn around to face behind them
Next to - find a partner
Between - find two partners

Rules:
1.If you're late to do an action, you're out of the game.
2.If you don't find a partner, you're out of the game.
3. If you go the wrong direction, you're out of the game.

My kids loved it and had a great laugh!

I will use the fanastic treasure map story found here: http://waygook.org/index.php/topic,3448.msg36857.html#msg36857
Follow the URL to download it.

In addition, I will use a map worksheet (attached) for the students to follow and mark the routes on their map while they read the story.

A quick dialogue and preposition worksheet. 2 copies on 1 A4 page. Label preposition pictures and circle the correct words for dialogue.

Charlie

Update: Oops, I just realised I missed the first two lines off the dialogue. I'll update and repost!
Update again: Ok, hopefully all ok now.  :D

I have uploaded a lot of Mediafire files for "Is This York Street" onto my blog.  I will be adding each lesson as they come up, for 5th and 6th Grade.  The files are the ones I used last year...so there is a combination of files I made, and files from Mediafire.

Thanks.

Here is the disappearing dialog PPT. I edited it a little to match with the book, and added another slide. There were a couple mistakes. Was it made by a Korean? Some articles were missing.... "the" Korean restaurant.

Thanks to original uploader. Nice PPT and useful.

Question...

Would you say "Where is the Sejong Building?" or "Where is Sejong Building?"

I wanna drop the 'the' because it is the name of the building.

i.e. "Where is the school?" / "Where is Seoul Elementary School?"
