Sundubu Jiggae X 5

Kidding. I do like it a lot though... Of course, I'm a vegetarian, so my options are limited, and I have to make sure it comes without seafood...

A proper 'umshick' full table meal at a Jeonju Shiktang.

Seundooboo chiggae (I'm a big fan of Nolboo's)

Kalgooksoo

ddong dwaedgi moksal meal (like a samguipsal meal but the meat is way better)

dwaedgi guk bap or so gogi guk bap

Kamja ttang / ttuk dori tal / takk galbi as close outsiders...

4.) 굽니 치킨
5.) 탕수육

Maybe make it waygook friendly (esp for newbs whom could very much benefit from being aware of and trying new foods) by romanising also?

I bet over 50% of posters can't read these but would love to know what they are!

I lol'ed when I read justanotherwaygook's top 5.  The posters who can't read them might lol as well if romanized.  I'll do my best:

1.) 피자 스쿨 - Peeja SuhCool.
2.) 미스터 피자 - Mee Suhtuh Peeja
3.) 아마이 치킨 - Ahmah Eeh Cheekeen.
4.) 굽니 치킨 - Gumneeh Cheekeen
5.) 탕수육 - Tang Soo Yook

Hopefully you get the idea.

Haha, thanks.  I made two mistakes, it should be 오마이 치킨, I think they're not common as competitors, but they are delicious.  Also, it should be

I admit, my list is a bit tongue-in-cheek and just for fun (though I do enjoy those things!)

dominos (double pepperoni thin crust), buger king (double cheeseburger), smoothie king (almond choco),  coldstone (any), and donkas.

But I guess a serious answer is :

Samjang ( I know its a sauce but still amazing!)
Donkas
Most soon sal chicken
Korean toast
dalk galbi
Korean duck (better than Beijing duck imo)

Yes that was six due to one being a sauce/topping.

Cheese and cheese bagel from Paris Baguette.

The first five that come to mind, with descriptions for newcomers:

-kalmaegi (갈매기) (a leaner cut of pork with a meatier, less greasy taste)

-oisobagi (오이소박이) (cucumber kimchi)

-mul naengmyeon (물냉면) (cold buckwheat noodles in vinegar-mustard broth with pear and cucumber)

-ssamjang and doenjang (쌈장, 된장) (soybean sauces -- the former is spicy -- that I most often eat as a dip with raw carrots)

-gangjeong (강정) (crispy deep-fried rice snacks usually flavored with honey)

Hi Folks,
I'd like to ask your help for a lesson. I'm doing a "Top 5" kind of game with my kids to see what they think are the top 5 Korean foods liked by Westerners. Now I know what my top 5 favourite Korean food is, but I don't know what others like. This is where you come in...

Could you please list your 5 favourite Korean foods in order of preference, 1 being the best and 5 the lowest on the list. It will be interesting to see what everyone likes, and who knows, maybe I'll find a new food worth trying.

My Top 5 Korean Foods:

1. 탕수육 Tung Su Yuk
2. 비빔밥 Bibimbap
3. 돈까스 Donkasu
4. 볼고기 Bulgogi
5. 감자탕 Gamjatang

what grade level? it would be important to note that some foods are not Korean. For example. TongSuYuk is chinese food.

soooo.......you may have a 'history' lesson involved here.

i DO know that at LEAST one "Korean Korean" food is Dak Galbi. it was created in the northern provinces. the location starts with CH. and if i saw a map, i could point it out.

Don Kas is also Japanese

Dalk Galbi comes from Chuncheon. Or at least the best dalk galbi comes from there.
