You'll find some pictures on Flickr, once you get past the pets and parties, and probably even on your Suncheon friends' Facebook pages. Just search for Shidae, not Shidea (actually, searching for "Suncheon apartment" got better results from Flickr).
I lived there for two years and really liked it, though I was coming out of more unfavorable accommodation in Gangjin county. Some people have complained about it (size?) but I wonder how much experience they have with Korean apartments.
My set-up was pretty typical: livingroom, kitchen, bathroom, spare room all in a row. I want to say 14 pyeong, but don't quote me on that. For one person it was enough space. Everything was clean, many of the appliances were new, and I didn't have any problems with insects or mold. The one, um, challenge was the shower, because sometimes hot water and water pressure were iffy. But, again, this is I encountered in every place I lived in Korea.
It was a convenient location. Right behind a grocery store (Kim's Club) and a Department Store, next to an insanely-overpriced gym, at the foot of a nice little hiking trail. Buses in front of the grocery store went to my schools, downtown, the train station, and practically everywhere else. A taxi stand out front as well. A 20-minute walk to Home Plus, a 30-minute walk to "new downtown" (buses go to both those places, but it's almost not worth it).
Once you find out your new school, get in touch with who you'll be replacing, and you'll probably see pics or even be able to visit the place before you arrive.
