Hello fellow Waygooks! I attached a ppt. that I used for my open class this week. I also attached a worksheet document that goes along with it. I did a review and used a chant from the book and then did the following lesson:
1. A worksheet where I read sentences aloud for part one and two and then had them unscramble words for part 3
2. The golden bell game played with every student having their own whiteboard. I would show the scrambled sentence quickly and then go to the question mark slide. Then I would count down from five and have the students all raise their boards at the same time as I show the unscrambled slide. The students keep track of how many correct answers they get. You can use as many or as few slides as you want depending on time.
3. I played the board game which I printed out and used dice for. I believe I got the board game template from someone on this site but I can't remember who, so thanks for that stranger. It's basically shoots and ladders. The students have to say the phrase that is on the square that they land on. I used the ppt. to show the students how to play. There are a lot of slides but once you look through them you can see that it is for the sake of showing moving pieces and that you run through the slides quickly when explaining the game.
This lesson was jam packed with activities so if you want to add or subtrack any one of them it may be advisable.
Enjoy and please feel free to leave me any feedback.
