I better explain about this ppt, and I'll tell you what I did in class to explain it. I asked, "How could you finish this sentence: "It's very ____." The class suggested: big, tall, good, etc. Next, I did a Google search with the quotes they suggested, noting the number of hits each quote got. ("It's very good." was the winner.) Then, we played the ppt game. Students had to guess the adjective-noun combination they thought would get the highest score, and write it on their whiteboards. Note: I got the scores from The Corpus of Contemporary American English They add up all their scores at the end of the game.
