Review and a 'battleship' game...

Where do you get the digital images from the textbook?  I've seen them in other presentations and I'd like to use them to create my own.
I am often amazed at how much more capability and enthusiasm for science there is among elementary school youngsters than among college students.

After reading the 'story time - Washing machine 2', you can use this to teach 'stop...ing' structure.
Here's a survey sheet.
You can have students tear the paper in two.

Here's a Sonic Game that I made for English reviews. The content in this .ppt is for this lesson, but you can easily change the content to fit any lesson from any grade.

Basically if you've played BAAM or the Mario game, it plays very similarly. Sonic characters and themes are used. There's plenty of variety to keep students interested.

Instructions:
-Split the class into two teams.
-Have the students raise their hands and answer the questions.
-They can be rewarded with rings (points), or if they get a character that matches their team they can steal points from the other team.
-The team with the most points in the end is the winning team.

I hope you enjoy using this game!

I spent many hours making this...having grown up as a Sonic fan I couldn't help but do my part to combat the recent Mario efforts.  ;)

this sonic game was AWESOME!! my kids absolutely love it^^ thanks sooo much~!!

Hi all,

Here is a whiteboard game for lesson 2 period 4 of the new 5th grade book. I took it from the site and made it easier cause my kids are lower level. Thanks to the original poster.

My kids really like song by the Cures-Friday I'm in Love, but they weren't that interested in the music video. I found a stop animation video for the song and my kids much preferred this video.

I'm not sure how to post youtube videos as a post so i will just paste the url here:

It's super cute, check it out!

(if someone can tell me how to post youtube videos i will greatly appreciate it!!)

thanks!!

Another review/intro lesson for the kids to make sure they no the difference in the usage of "have" and "has.  My students are very low level so if you're in the same boat, this will help you out tremendously

So the powerpoint has all the subjects with pictures and the kids reallly get into it. Have them guess the subject (ethics may be a little difficult for them but modify if needed) where one student from each group will go up to the front and his/her team members have to give one word or full sentence hints depending on the level without gestures or using Korean.

Axis review game...really simple but can take a while. Play it as a review for the last unit of the lesson.

we played it in groups, everyone in the group had to say the sentence together "I have music class on monday" or "on monday, I have music class"

they love it when everyones points get blown up!

Here are some cards I used for pictionary. I divide the class into 6 teams and choose someone to draw, then they have one minute to draw as many of the words as they can. Feel free to add in some of the vocab from last chapter to make the game last longer!

I absolutely love Bob's week text maze for reading comprehension though there is a spelling mistake (the second time the word "Thursday" is used) in the pdf.  I retyped the maze to fix it and it is attached below.  Two of the questions at the bottom of page are a bit difficult so you may want to change them. Does anyone know of a web site that creates these text mazes? I have looked but haven't found one. I made one manually but found that it is not completely trival to make a good one.
