I love the idea of introducing the Western zodiac.
But I wanted to make my own PPT with just a few characteristics and with Korean written in since I know a lot of American high-schoolers don't even know some of these words.
The first part of each lessons my co-teacher just wants me to do something for the interest since the students don't know much of the vocabulary yet.
So, I hope some of you like this.

I used the song "Calendar Girl" by Neil Sedaka to review months

Here is a worksheet and a ppt I made for period 2. The worksheet is a survey game where the students walk around and ask other students their birthday. Use the ppt before the game to review months and dates.

Intro PPT. I just made a few changes to a PPT that I found from this thread. It includes 2 activities using the same dialog from the text book (choose the correct word to finish the sentence and fill in the blanks). The students have the activities on the handout that my co gets from indie school.

Enjoy

Here is a good and fun way to teach ordinal numbers: either by word or by number (I think by word is better because numbers are too easy), on a small slip of paper and hand them out randomly face down on the students desks . Using a stop watch, and tell them when you say go, they have to get into a line from the 1st to the highest number and then call them out correctly. Time it and then play again, telling them they have a chance to beat their previous time, though mix up the cards again.

Here is the speaking test I gave them for their midterm (lessons 1-4).  For question 3 I found a picture of a bookstore next to a bank and stuck it on the paper.  The co-teacher wanted to have something physical to put into the records so I slapped this together.  Not sure how needed it will be for people on this site but I thought I would throw it up.  Anyway, enjoy!

I'm not sure if anyone's posted these, but I found some good ordinal number worksheets online. These only go up to "tenth" though.

I'm noticing that the book doesn't seem able to decide if it wants to teach the kids to say "May the 5th" or just "May 5th."  Am I wrong that the first one sounds a little strange?

I think it sounds strange because normally we use "the" when we say the day first: "The 5th of May" or "The 4th of July"

It's also used when we just want to say the day with the month implied. "When is the party?"  "It's on the 5th."

This is from an American's POV.

*Note:  We talked about "I like/ she likes/ we like" so if you haven't discussed it yet, you might want to change those slides ^_^

The Baskin Robin’s game in courtesy of my co-teacher. It’s like normal 31 (drinking) game but with ordinal numbers. The class really liked it. You may want to count from 1st to 31st before starting, to revise the ordinal numbers.

Here is my PPT for my second period and two good clips I’m going to use for period 3 and 4.

I’m going to pre-teach the words ‘God’, ‘victory’, ‘God of Victory’, ‘contest’, ‘support’ and ‘competition’ with a lot of help from my co-teacher!

Thanks to everyone for their great work again I got some great ideas, much inspiration and used some of the templates.
So for lesson 1+2 I found that my student had difficulty with ordinal numbers and months.
I just went over ordinal numbers with the ppt attached (I got the idea from another post on here, thank you). I went through the months with the calender song and my Ss loved it.
Then I played a number game alternating with ordinal numbers and months of the years.
So are divided into groups, when the Ts says go Ss need to stand up one by one saying a number ie. first, second, third etc. If two Ss stand up at the same time and say the same number their teams are out that round.
Each team gets points for every member in their team that is standing and once there is a team with all it's members standing that team is the winner and gets x amount of points.
The point of the game is to have all the members in your team standing.
Attached is also a ordinal + months revision bomb game.
Enjoy  :)

For a short 5-10 minute filler, we played a counting game (its actually a drinking game I have played a few times)
Students have to stand up one by one shouting 1st, next random(brave) student 2nd, next 3rd etc ..If they do it alone and no one says it the same time as them then they are allowed line up at the door. If 2 students say a number the same time they are out and must wait for the next round, until all the students are either out with them or lined up at the door. You have to be careful they don't plan who will say what number!
Its great fun and they LOVE it! Even the weakest students were jumping up yelling!!
The last 5 students had to tidy the classroom.

not sure if these games were mentioned already - i'm currently reading through the thread, so sorry if this is repeating information! But here are some fun Korean counting games that you can use to help teach the kids ordinary numbers!

One is called 3,6,9 : it's a very popular game where people count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc but for numbers that have a 3, 6, or 9 in them, they have to clap instead of saying the number. if they mess up they are out. I plan to do this with them counting first second *clap*, fourth, fifth, *clap*

Another Korean counting game (Irishcailin talked about earlier) is just making the kids count to a certain number and the goal is to NOT be the one to say the last number. For example, if you chose 6 students. They each have to say a number, "First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth" The person who is left to say "Sixth" is out. To start, anyone of the 6 students can stand up and say "first" then he/she sits down and is safe. Another student continues by standing up and saying "second". If students stand up and say a number at the same time, they are eliminated! Also, if they are the last one, they are eliminated... play until there is one person left... lol. I hope that makes sense? if not, ask your coteacher - they should know these games! ^^

(example of this game can be seen in this video starting around 2:13)

thanks to everyone as always for sharing your materials!!!

I like it.
after casting the question on ppt to student,
draw the answer, 'i think so,' or 'i don't think so'
then, you can show the video clip on youtube.
