I just bought an Ibook Pro (damn sexy machine).
I've been a PC user my entire life and have an external hard drive I wish to use om my mac. I do not want to format it though.
Is there any other way of using the hard drive without formatting it and losing all the content?

Please help!

Desperate..

is it a FAT32 drive? if so, no need to worry - it's good to go.

have you tried plugging it in? can your mac read the drive?

I just recently purchased the same sexy machine and my machine was able to read my external HD with no issues. I have a second HD I use with Time Machine that is formatted MAC specific.

BTW I'm curious as to the spec!

I ended up buying the 15" High res glossy screen, 2.2 GHz i7, 8GB 1333MHz DDR3, 500GB HD @ 7200rpm, AMD Radeon HD 6750M.

Using Google or Apple forums will most likely be a more valuable place to seek help. I have had a few Apple/Mac issues myself and their customer service is fast and useful.

Hi think there's a program called Macfuse that lets the mac read Fat32 and NTFS formatted drives (PC ones)  might even be free.

I used it a while back so apologies for being a bit vague.
