I was searching around the web for some ideas for the writing contest I have been told I need to plan and judge, and I came across lots of resources at
http://www.teacherplanet.com/. I am toying with the idea of letting one entry category be poetry, but even though I have an English undergrad and master's I didn't feel confident judging poetry, so I was especially looking for a poetry rubric.
While searching, I came across some other amazing rubrics in the process, and thought I'd share them here. I take absolutely zero credit for ownership or authorship of any of these. Now, you can certainly go there yourself and look, but I thought I'd save you a few minutes and just add them here for quick reference in case anyone else has been given the same or similar assignment by your school.
The main downside is that most of the rubrics don't actually include the original assignment details and guidelines, but you can sort of infer them based on the rubrics. It doesn't look too difficult. The other downside is that these are PDFs, so they can't really be modified and you'll have to either use them directly or else retype them.
Anyway, I hope they at least provide some ideas for someone!
