actually that's not entirely accurate. if, for example, you opened a can of baked beans against an orange wall, the splashed residue could be hard to detect visually and would thus make cleaning a tricky process! also, if some beans escaped the can and the consumer wished to amass them for eating, it would be infinitely preferable to have the mess spread across a wall in a colour against which orange is easily visible, for example white. or cerulean blue.
