One of the ways that the roles of Korean women has changed is the changes in the Hobukjeong laws, where Korean men were the official heads of households. That law was changed some years ago and now Korean women can be the heads of their household. That has also cleared the way for Korean women to sponsor their foreign spouses for family visas.
A second way that the roles of Korean women has changed is that more women are going to university and graduate school here in Korea than men. How that will play out in the future is not clear today. Time will tell.
