I teach 22 hours a week, 3-5 classes per day at a public school depending on the day. Included is one after school class. Honestly, my schedule isn't that bad but after a full day of sitting/teaching/walking about the school/dealing with preteens (I teach at a middle school), I come back home and take a nap for a good 2 hours. By then I've already spent a good portion of my day and then do what I need to do before I go back to sleep again before waking up the next morning and repeat. I'm usually pretty tired the beginning of the week because no ones like Mondays, but the middle of the week is fine, and pretty much Friday is the idgaf day. It's pretty common though to feel like you've worked out all day just from teaching children.

23 hours teaching. I work at multiple grade schools, and I've got to say...those first three grades (Kindy-2nd) really exhaust me! But I love my 5th graders so if I have a day where I do both grades it sort of balances out.
With that said, most days I go home from teaching and don't have much energy to do more than take a nighttime stroll and maybe watch some TV.

24 teaching hours (50 min classes)
3 hour club class (watching movies)
2 hour voluntary evening class

So, 29 hours in class per week and another 16 hours of time in the office. I'm tired when I get home, but my high school students are great and more than make up for the number of hours.

I'm getting off easy.
If my school gave me all first and second grade students, I would have 25 classes per week. Instead of doing that, they only give me all of the 2nd graders (12 classes) and then the best of the best of the 1st graders.
But, in order to find the best of the best 1st graders, they have to wait for them to do their midterms, at the end of April. So, since the beginning of the school year, and until April, I've only been doing 12 classes as week. Plus 2 overtime after school classes.

I now teach 16 hrs a week in shanghai.  At the moment have only been doing 13.5 though as that's all I inherited from the previous teacher.  Nice.

Crazy thng is if I go up to 23 which was what I was doing in Korea, I'll earnaround 3.5mil won eqvt due to overtime being 200rmb per hour.

Much more relaxed now teaching less and with better facilities and training after having to wing it and do my best from learning through bits and bobs from the internet over the years in Korea.

Kids here much easier to manage too.

I'm in China now too and have 16 classes per week (university). However, for the last two months of each term I only have eight classes per week because half the classes are not scheduled for various reasons ... like military training.

No poop! After six years teaching middle school in K-land (mostly boys) the difference is like night & day. If I ask a Chinese student a question they automatically stand up to answer. If after they finish and I get distracted (for example writing on the board) and don't tell them they can sit down, they remain standing... LOL. It 'freaked me out' at first!
The Ks once gave me five minutes notice. I didn't know what to do with the extra time.

Sounds good Dwaedgi, as that salary is much higher than what I've heard of in China.
Glad it's working out for you.
