Smokers: Can you smoke at school? If so, where?

At my school we are not allowed to smoke. The rule is not inforced so teachers go to the parking lot to smoke.

I beleive my school is smoke free(as I have never seen any of the teachers smoke at school) BUT the teachers bathroom(on the third floor across from the teachers room) always smells like cigarette smoke.  I have a feeling they sneak there to smoke- it is not near any of the classrooms and the kids rarely come that way.

I was always scared to smoke at school. Then one day after lunch I noticed a teacher walking down the hill away from the school grounds. So now that is where I go. I only like to sneak off after lunch, and usually the kids are running rampant all over the place. So the only safe spot is to walk away from the school.

I used to smoke at school but am cutting down now. At my rural public high school, a large proportion of the teachers are male smokers. We have a little smoking shed outside at the current school.

We're moving to a new school building in 2 weeks and my co-teacher wanted me to check the list of English room names he had to come up with. I had a look and saw "Male Teachers' Room" and "Female Teachers' Room" and I asked him why they had segregated the teachers by sex. "So we can smoke!" he replied and we both laughed (although I was laughing at the absurdity of it).

It is technically illegal to smoke in school, but outside... I am not sure. At my school, the men hide in the bathroom and smoke and poop at the same time. It is terrible when one deposits a large amount into the bowl and there is a bunch of smoke rising from the stall.

I hate it myself. Outside whatever... but inside? How would they like it if I drove a motercycle into the school and left it running in their classroom. Oi...

I gave my supervisor an option when se mentioned smoking at school..

Either i smoke on school grounds in a hidden away part behind an unused building, or i can walk outside of school grounds,  get followed by the kids, and they can watch me smoke along with the rest of the folk on the street. The choice became quite clear.

The principal just does it in front of the kids anyway, but i prefer not to be seen.

The teachers in my school sneak off to the roof to smoke.  The door is locked normally and the smokers either all carry, or borrow the smoking roof key.   :D

We have a smoking room complete with couches, chairs and exhaust fan and in winter an awesome heater.

A recent addition has been a putting green.  non smokers come and visit  :)

Walk off campus and hide in some alleyway. When the students see me walking off campus it's usually "o teacher smoking?" or "marlboro reduh?"

We have a balcony area on the third floor attached to the gymnasium.  It's the go to place for all the teachers, and the principle, a nonsmoker, doesn't mind, nor does the vice principle, who occasionally joins us.  Of course when that happens all the teachers turn their backs and smokes away from the vice principle in a form of respect.

We smoke anywhere 'out back', but usually in the maintenance shed - I call it the "Boys' Clubhouse". It has a couple of cheap couches and a few chairs around the wood-burning stove (used to have a kerosene heater) and a TV on the workbench.

Same, we got a smoking lounge.

I've been recently leaving my smokes in there, and now, my smokes are mysteriously disappearing. I definitely did not smoke 13 cigarettes today. We got a moocher among our faculty (90% sure its my English co-teacher). Not leaving my smokes there anymore!

Try to find another male teacher. Chances are he is a smoker.  He should take care of you.

i seriously think I'm the only smoker at my school.  There are only 3 male teachers, other than the P & VP, & I've been told none of them are smokers.  I sneak down to the garage twice a day for a smoke, but the little MS girls are always whining (like only they can) 'oh teecha smoking. smell.' I never would have made a comment to a teacher's face when I was a kid. 
But it all imparts a certain sense of paranoia in me.  I feel like I'm down there smoking crack.

i know the feeling. i have to for go my lunch to run home smoke, brush teath, spray clothes and run back! if they say anything i will bitch slap the kids! i wish i had a smoking area! i cannot be the only one in a whole school who smokes?

People leave cigs in the balcony lounge for everyone to share.  It's just something people do.  If you don't like other people bumming cigs, then just keep them with you.  I sometimes leave my cigs there too, I don't mind because a pack is only 2.5k for the brand I like, which would be like between $5 and $10 back where I'm from..

We have men's lounge to relax in with ondol, ash trays, massage chair, bed and other amenities its as big as my studio apartment.  I've never smoked there but when there, a teacher is smoking there.
