I have not been listening to 5fm, but have been enjoying Kfm breakfast show. Dit maak my baie gelukkig om na Afrikaans te luister!

I've been thinking about an Engen pepper steak pie all day! Now I want one even more :( But yes, listening to 5fm does help with the homesickness. Today while in a shop, I heard Freshlyground's "Dooby doo" playing. Made me smile :D

If any of you use iPhones or iPod touches or any smartphone I guess - tunein radio is a great app. you can find almost any station - I even listened to my mates show on UCT radio the other week.

Hehehhee!  HIER GANIT MOS NOU LEKKER! :)

I LOVE listening to 5fm at school !  but I have really crappy earphones - so I have to keep it so soft :( saaad!  My ipod earphones are too short (the pc tower is under the desk).

I miss saying stuff like ROBOT for traffic light...  and pies.  I really want a garage pie.

Garage pie?  are you a Grahamstonian by any chance?  I mean, I know lots of garages sell pies - but BP's shamrocks were something special, no?

Ah BP runs, before, during or after writing an essay. Bacon and cheese rolls were the best! Great now I'm drooling at the thought.... and theres not a chance I'll be able to find one  :'(

The Spur ads make me homesick. Other than that, it's great to hear some homegrown music <3 I listen to 5fm most afternoons when i'm done with class. It's good to keep in touch with news at home

Yup listen to 5fm every day! Sometimes even Matie FM as well - for a dose of Afrikaans. The nice thing about the time difference here is that I get to hear almost the entire breakfast show. Who's up at 6 am listening to the radio in SA anyway. I get to hear a whole lot of Gareth.

He's made my day so many times. :)

I just got an iPhone with my contract and now I can listen to 5fm, Highveld and even Jacaranda when I feel like listening to some Afrikaans in my apartment. Damn I miss it. When the news comes on, I'm just so glad I'm away from some of the day to day things South Africans have to go through! For example, at the moment the defacing of Zuma's painting! Ai ai...
