Intro PPT
6 teams. Explain I can and I can't.
Demo with co-teacher.
Have everyone in class say dialogue eg. ride bike. Slide 1 is for team 1. They have  to guess if it is I can ride a bike/ I can't ride a bike.
They say guess as a team. If they are correct x2.
Have everyone in class say answer together or listen and repeat.
Slide 2 is for team 2 etc.

Attached is a Mario game I took from a post in grade 3 and edited for this lesson.  Target language practiced is "Can you...?" / Yes, I can. / No, I can't.  I'm using it for Talk and Play 2.

Here's a Bomb Banana game I used for Talk and Play 1.  Students have to make a sentence using the target language "I can..." / "I can't..."  Just as a heads up, I also used some vocab not part of the lesson:  speak English, play (the) violin, play (the) piano, play golf, play volleyball.

Writing practice can be used in period 3, kids have to make sentences using the material in the slide.

Hi everyone
I know of a good game that goes great with the first period of this lesson (or any lesson). It's called the Chanting Game

First to play make some flash cards. (Easy enough, you can print them out of the cd)
Then go over the flash cards with all the students.
Then send one student out of the room.
Pick a flash card and show the other students
Hide it.
The outside student comes back in.
The students chant softly or loudly (the key expression) depending on whether the student is near the hidden flash card or not.
Continuing chanting until the student finds the flash card

Used some powerpoint from this thread as the template thanks. Basically just put some amusing gifs I found with the target language to help the students remain conscious.

Awesome Intro PPT Jamlove. 

I made another hidden picture game using RufusW's template so I don't have to click 20 times to see the picture.

Also a survey the students fill out by asking "Can you ride a bike?"  If the answer is yes, they write the name down.  After they finish writing all the names, we use the same paper to play bingo.

[Update - You play the bingo game with the students names.  I usually make the students fill their paper in with 8 boys and 8 girls.
After we find the Bingo winner I do an extra game where I say a target phrase and a student's name, like "Min Seo can ride a bike."
Anybody who has Min Seo written down in the 'ride a bike' box gets a point/sticker.]

Hi here is a ppt that goes with my worksheet. It has black and white images, so if you are not using the worksheet, it might not be of use for you.

Here's a Mission Impossible themed unscramble PowerPoint game I reworked from a previous poster's effort. The kids responded really well to it, and liked the MI theme music countdown. The template can actually be used for any class though - simply change the content of the text boxes.

To adjust the level of English, try and put short sentences in as well.

Anyway, hope it's as successful for you as it was for me!
