Storybooks needed but don't know where to buy!!!
« on: June 01, 2011, 05:16:44 PM »
I have a question about English teaching resources in Gwangju. We are looking for large books to use for a storytelling class. For these classes, we're looking to teach things such as the Alphabet, Numbers, and other things like that. Any help would be awesome!

Have you heard about "What the Book" yet?  They have a very wide selection of English books, and will deliver to anywhere in Korea!  Some books arrive very quickly.  Others take a long time.  You can see estimated arrival times on the website.

I know they have large children's books.  The oversize kind might have a longer delivery time, though.

I'm not sure where specifically in your city you can buy kids' books but I've noticed kids' books in English at E-Mart and Lotte Mart where I live.
The Book Depository also carries some children's' books (not sure if they're large format though) and they ship worldwide for free:  http://www.bookdepository.co.uk

the homeplus in Pohang by the intercity bus terminal has some awesome kids books, with korean in the back. they also come with CDs but I haven't checked those out yet. I paid 3,000won a book- super deal. I only bought three, but they had more than a dozen- they're just sitting in the middle of one of the aisles in a bin. perhaps your homeplus will have the same books?
