Here is week 4 - planning a trip. Since this is a less mainstream topic than food or animals, most of the ppt.'s are my creation. Despite the sentences seeming a bit complicated for grade 3's, they handled it well.

Here is week 3 - Food. Again, a lot of stuff was taken from other sources for day 11 and 12 but other days have more of my creations. Kids loved day 13, of course, due to the Mr. Bean video. I kept stopping it in different places and had them say "Cut the bread!" "Wash the lettuce!" They loved it.

Day 11 - Grains, Dairy
Day 12 - Fruits, Vegetables, Meat
Day 13 - Food commands
Day 14 - Pizza
Day 15 - Ordering at a restaurant

WOW! This looks awesome! It could all easily be followed up with 'where in the world is carmen sandiego' a game that I've found on here. (just click on the search and type in 'carmen sandiego' to find it.

This is a great idea to base one of my activities off for my middle school girls. Thanks for the wonderful ideas you've shared here.

Okay, so here are some more resources for this lesson which I've found today.  I'm not sure if I'll be using them but I'm sure they might be helpful for some of you.  Many of them are higher level (suitable for middle or high school) so if you were concerned that the others were too easy, these may be worth taking a look at.  But I believe there are some lower level ones, too.  Enjoy~!

Here's another copy of the Italy PPT for whoever it wasn't working for. 

@rgracevn the "Please" game is just like Simon Says.  First I spend 2 or 3 minutes teaching them new words.  Usually no more than five.  Such as upper cut, low kick, high kick, roundhouse, jab... etc.  Then we go through a practice round.  Then we play and whoever doesn't mess up gets a stamp.

Hi there. This is fantastic. I'm trying to adapt it to use for my winter camp. Do you happen to have the "exploring the world" book you refer to in your powerpoints? If you do it would be very useful. Thank you!

Hey fakeplasticvero, the "exploring the world" book I referred to is a 12 page booklet I stapled together with blank paper. The idea was that on 12 of the 20 days, during the last 8 mins of the lesson, I had the students create a page, which is what is referred to in the ppt's. Usually, they had to draw a picture and write down the target sentence. The target sentence always gave them some freedom. For example, on arctic day, they had to create a page saying "_______ live in the arctic," and do whatever arctic animal they wanted to. On one of the food days, they had to write "I want to eat ______ in _______," and choose the food and country. I can post some pictures of it later if you want, but I'm sure you get the idea.

I will definitely be using some of these ideas/presentations for my upcoming winter camp - it'll be a travel camp, with an emphasis on conversing in English ~ cheers for sharing!

Here's something that might be helpful to everyone doing an Around the World theme for elementary students. I'm attaching a pdf file of children's games around the world. Many can be modified to practice English. Some of the ones I will be using are: How Many, Little Parrot, Hana Hana Hana Kuchi.
