And finally....

(Also use summer words gun-mal-i-ki, make summer bingo cards and mixed work anagram games etc...)

Youtube 'Here Come's the Sun' by the Beatles.  I think the link is in one of the lesson plan wordfiles, but it's been a cpl yars, so not fully sure.

Anyway you could use the materials with my lesson plans or just make your own lesson plans around the matrials, or of course, what is most likely - you already have a summer camp plan and materials and can use mine to supplement it etc...

Good luck!

Today was a productive day.

Thanks to a certain Mr. Daejeon Mc Powerpoint Guru, I was able to spend my day of no classes studying the subtle nuances, beauty, and mechanics of the Korean version of Micosoft Powerpoint 2007.

I have successfully mastered assigning cheesy animated transitions to objects.  I know that this isn't exactly a ground-breaking achievement, but I'm better than where I started.

Anyway, we're going to make our camp as simple and educational as we possibly can.  So, behold.  A simple lesson on very basic verbs for beginners with cheesy animated powerpoint transitions.  I hope I can get a little better at powerpoint soon so that I can post things that are less lame.

Summer Camp- A week of Challenges!
« Reply #43 on: July 13, 2011, 05:44:26 PM »
So I have attached some random ppts that I have made and also some that I have taken off waygook already- to be quite honest
my main motivator is the fact that my laptop won't let me put my USB in so I don't know how to retrieve my lessons so I thought
I'd pop them on here so I can get them off from here.

Hopefully someone may find some of these activities helpful or give them some inspiration. Not a whole lot of explanation about them
but if people have questions feel free to ask

Cheers

I always play "Cold Wind Blows" or I just call it "Chair Game."  This goes great with physical descriptions, clothing, etc.

Hot Seat with camp vocabulary, Pictionary, etc.

Here are some silly dialogues to go along with the lessons.  I am totally responsible for the crappy illustrations and bad, cheesy humor.  I apologize in advance.

Also, I'm including slightly higher level material that we used for fifth and sixth grade.  But ehh, it's still nothing too special.

Elementary Summer camp 2 weeks worth of materials (Grade 5ish level)
« Reply #50 on: August 16, 2011, 05:32:10 PM »
I am leaving Korea in 2 days, but thought I'd upload this before I left.

There are probably spelling and grammatical errors in the slides and the workbooks, for that I apologize - I was rushed to put the booklets together, and am again now pressed for time, so haven't been able to go back and correct all the small mistakes that I found I made.

Hopefully this will help some of you. I used material sourced from other fellow Waygooks, as well as other online sources.. and my brain came up with the rest.

Most of these lessons have too many materials for each unit (if each unit is two 45 minute lessons as mine were).

Unit 3

Students must work on the "secret code" in pairs. Students must have blocks of text that match, A & B are a pair and C & D are a pair. ie: in 1 pair, one student gets A and the other gets B, and another pair, the one student gets C and the other gets D.

I did this or else students overheard what the other pairs were saying, and filled in the gaps that way instead of getting their partner to read out loud to them.

Unit 7

The "find someone who game" has clothes that kids would be dressed in during winter, not summer. Just change the clothes types if you want to play this during a summer camp.

I found I had a little time spare in this lesson, so maybe add another game.
