I just thought I'd say the site doesn't seem any faster now than before whatever tweak you made. It doesn't do the database can't be accessed error any more, but it is still very very slow to load a page - up to 30 seconds, by my feel. It's worst in the morning, when I imagine all you good folks are scrambling for a bomb game.

Yes, I know.  There are a ton of issues to deal with, but they are being handled in a step-wise fashion.   Next thing to handle is the theme/portal function.  Afterwards it will be isolating the database, web, and storage areas.  The process of isolating each of these section will also include a change to NGINX, which will make the site a lot zippier. :)

Why is waygook running so slow?
« Reply #23 on: July 01, 2011, 01:08:57 pm »
It seems like for maybe a month it takes a minimum of 10 seconds every time i click on a link for anything to load. this happens at work, and at school, on my computer at my co's. whats up with that?

I'm having a few problems with waygook (and I always have)
« Reply #24 on: July 04, 2011, 07:42:50 am »
does anyone else have these problems?
  • it takes awhile to load any page
  • when I hit reply, it says the session timed out and I have to do it a couple of times to make it go through
  • I can't vote on polls at all (An Error Has Occurred! Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.)
  • I am having trouble giving myself an avatar

is this because I'm using chrome? are there compatibility problems?

I agree to having issues like this. I've noticed recently (in the past month) that loading waygook.org takes significantly longer than other
websites, and I'm beginning to have issues with downloading and posting materials. It continues to time out, giving me "Download Interrupted"
messages. Becoming frustrating! Had to use a different computer in the school. Not sure if it's the site, Google Chrome, or just the PC I've been on.
