camp textbooks - download here

About a year ago somebody working in Jeollanam-do forwarded this to me.  It's a book of lesson plans created by local native speaker English teachers for an elementary English camp several winters ago. 

It's a large file at 20+ MB and 147 pages, and maybe in the future I or another moderator can begin breaking it into individual lessons, as was done with the JLP Resource Book.

Nonetheless feel free to browse, print, and use as inspiration or for your classes.  Please do not post the files or the lessons to other file-sharing sites, as this was created by and for the benefit of teachers in Jeollanam-do, and appears here for the users of waygook.org.

There is a teachers' resource book as well.

Both books are useful for newer teachers who might be unfamiliar with how camps are organized, how the days are scheduled, and what typically comprises a lesson. 

I really enjoyed two of the three camps I did---the two through Suncheon were very well-organized and well-supported---but I know I've had to create lessons sight-unseen and in hindsight it was unnecessarily challenging.

Here are some camp textbooks put together in previous semesters.  I made a couple of them.  Most of them were passed on to me by other teachers, both Korean and NSET.  I hope they are useful to someone.  :)

I'm having some trouble uploading the files, so I'll just post a few at a time. 


Most of these are for elementary.  One or two -- maybe it was the 2006 book? -- are better-suited for older or more advanced students.

Acorn/Maple/Palms books are beginner, intermediate, and advanced elementary.

Here is a winter lesson's book i made for my supplementary classes over the vacation period. It covers Christmas, toys, food and then a short movie!

I made a book last year at my school for summer camp.

Its not all of it. I hope this will help you guys. Students really like this. Even they are Koreans, they don't know everything about their culture. They are learning both, english and their own culture. I think this will help.
