You're right, another blog written for parents and friends.

Nice touch hitting your kid with a wooden spoon.  That'll teach her to go to church...

Sure, although most of my family and friends don't read it.  I do wonder who does read it when its mostly about the daily mundane existence of an F5 visa guy.

As for your tut tuting of my use of a wooden spoon, I am unapologetic.  I received a good spanking from time to time and I turned out fine.

I get how some have a visceral reaction to reading about a child being subjected to corporal punishment, and just to be crystal clear there is a fine line between that and abuse.  I would never abuse my kids.

I don't agree that any form of corporal punishment is automatically abuse however, and in some cases used judiciously it is acceptable. Being consistent and giving clear reasons to your child why you did it is equally important.

Just my cringe.

I totally believe that some parents need to hit their children,
just as I believe that some people need religion to go to church on Sunday.

Crutches are good.  They help the handicapped.

My parents NEVER spared the rod. I, too have gotten my share of whippings and turned out just fine.

if you want to debate on whether corporal punishment is detrimental or not, plz make a new thread/poll.

The thread that was being discussed above was this one

But that is neither here or now.  Lately, many of my posts have been about camping.  If you want info for camping this summer, come by or send me an email.

Unless it's for your family and friends OR is sensational and exciting (not just another wayg in Korea getting drunk on soju and marvelling over the funny customs etc) - Blogs are dull and boring and a dime a dozen and no one is interested.

I used to like the Idiot's tale just because he was so bummed out and down to earth.  But now it's ruined with him only ranting about the economy all the time.

I don't know who reads this thing.  Not my parents or friends.

I write to keep sane.  It works sometimes.

I looked at it and liked it.  There are too many blogs by English teachers here.  It's good to find a blog about living in Korea that is not by an English teacher for a change.
