I was surprised to see the new upgraded waygook. I guess it's a little better but did anyone else have trouble downloading things? I can't seem to be able open up any lessons or games.

Oooh Karmaa! :)  What's the applaud / smile?  Is that how you get karma??  I don't want to test it and applaud people and get banned for stalking... 

I just changed it a bit.  It's not love/hate.  Unless you can think of something better?   It will also only just show the total in general, as opposed to individual +/- totals.

To +/- a person, you will need to have at least 10 posts under your belt.

I liked the 'smite'!! Thought it was hilarious. What about 'appreciate' and 'smite'?

How (specifically) does on get/lose karma points?

By clicking the applaud or smite button under your karma points.

I must be stupid.  I can't see that.  All I see is gender listed under Karma points.

The new look is ok. Though with no "recent posts" its difficult to navigate. I hope they bring it back and dont leave it off because they think its a better move for the site.
There are a number of bugs on this new template, but at least makes the site more attractive.

Thanks.  I'm see your picture, but that does not appear on my screen (I tried in Internet Explorer and up-to-date Firefox).

Can someone tell me what's going on?  I also was on my home computer this morning and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there, either. From what it seems, it's related to my profile.

I'm glad it loads a million times faster (not an accurate scientific measurement  ). But yeah, not having that recent posts thing in the corner throws me off.

I reset mine like the others.

Regarding the love/hate option, it can be called something else.   If anyone has good suggestions, let me know.  I changed it from smite since I got comments that people easily confused it for "smile" nearly clicking it instead of applaud.

I will double check on permissions, it may not be working for some of the fanatical supporters, although, not sure why... anyone else who is a fanatical support not seeing the love/hate option?

Yeah it "looks" better.   However, there are major problems with functionality.   For example, try loading the site in firefox then making a long post like this one.   When I do this, what I am typing right now doesn't appear on my screen at all!   Why?   Because at about the phrase "try loading the site in firefox" it has went totally off the screen.   I can't see what I am typing right now at all,

Please be a little patient with the "recent topics" section, we'll see what we can do to alleviate that problem. :)

I changed it back over to the default theme for now.  I will move a little slower with the changes so as to not affect too much at once.  Hope this is better.

Sorry, a major problem with this site is that if I type a post, it will go in one line.   This means for example that after here      |  my cursor has now moved off the screen entirely.  I can not see what I am typing at all.   I could manually enter a new line, but doing so would risk making lines look disjointed because of the auto-wrap feature in most forums.

To test it yourself, try opening this site in Firefox 5.0.   Type in a longish post, and see if the cursor eventually goes off the screen.

I like the new layout. I just realized there was a karma feature--I like it. I completely forgot about it, but a couple of years ago,
I remember reading an article in Wired about how allowing users to give feedback or rate reader responses cut down on trolling
and flaming.

I making changes gradually at this point.  Don't worry. :)

Yup :)   Last theme was causing issues with certain browsers.  It will change up again, but I'm thinking not by much.  There's still the recent posts or a chat-box type of thing to implement, and perhaps other tweeks.
