Where to buy revenue stamps in Seoul?
« on: July 07, 2011, 05:09:36 am »
Many of us are renewing visas now and I know you buy the revenue stamps in the Immigration Office but does anyone know where you can buy them elsewhere?  I would like to have mine ready before arriving at the Immigration Office.

In South Africa we can buy them at any Post Office. Hoping someone can help me here.  Thanks.   :) :)

Out of curiosity, why?

The reason why I want that is because sometimes when you get to Immigration the little cafe that sells them is closed for lunch or something like that, so it is better to have them when you arrive.

By the way, just found out that you can buy them at Post Offices, but you must pay cash, so I bought mine now.

Ah.

I wonder whether the basement cafe would buy back stamps that were purchased at the post office? I would worry about showing up with too many.

Also, do you know what to call them in Korean? It's easy enough to go downstairs and say "스템프" but if I were in a post office I think I'd have trouble explaining what I wanted.

I just got my co-teacher to write them a letter asking for it.  You need stamps to the value of 30,000 won to renew your visa. So just buy that.
