Paddington - movie vocab worksheet
« Reply #160 on: June 23, 2015, 11:55:52 AM »
I made this simple worksheet for vocabulary in the (excellent) movie Paddington.

We read the words first, repeated  a few times so they understand their meaning, watched the first act of the movie (until Paddington's bathroom incident), took a break to write in all the words and then resumed the movie.

Next week I'm going to make another worksheet for Pt 2, I'll upload that then.

Attached is the vocab worksheet plus the Korean subtitle file.

Enjoy!

Paddington - Worksheet 2

This time it's just a simple table to populate with information: Name / Country / Likes / Age..

Students can ask 2 friends for their information and then read it out loud....

I've noticed my students are really struggling with ordinal numbers, specifically when I ask the date. So I did a pretty successful class with my 4th graders.
First, we listened to the numbers song (they love it) and I taught them the ordinal numbers versus regular numbers.

I gave them two of these worksheets:
http://worksheetplace.com/index.php?function=DisplayCategory&showCategory=Y&links=4&id=89&link1=40&link2=91&link3=315&link4=89

And then we played a racing game. I wrote first to twelfth (there were 12 students) on separate pieces of paper - so that means two teams of six each. Each team tries to stand in order of the numbers they were given and the first team to stand in correct order gets one point.

Gonna post all the classes I've been teaching! Most of the materials are edited stuff that other great WGers have made, so thank you! But I edit them to suit my classes so thought I'd post.

First, 1st and 2nd grade animals class.

Food lesson. I made this lesson as a lead up to doing the very hungry caterpillar with my 1,2 graders, I will do days of the week next week! So that's why I chose the food I chose in the PPT!

- Food intro PPT
- Handwriting practice WS
- Hidden picture guessing game
