"free talking" camp for elementary school
« on: July 11, 2011, 03:02:31 pm »
My school wants 10 days of free talking with mostly 5th and 6th graders - 1 1/2 hrs per day.   There is already a themed summer camp being done by another GET at my school, so I don't think they want another one.  I was told "pick an issue and talk about it". Any suggestions?

Glad you asked. I have been prepping a phonics type camp for some time. My co-teacher was not named until yesterday. He wants to scrap the plans and do a "conversation camp". Huh?

I'm going with it, because its great to work with someone who wants to share the responsibility and who speaks Korean, and who really wants the students to learn, and who is a professional teacher by trade ;)

So, fine with me!

But I'm going to need help with ideas. i know there must be workbooks specializing in elementary level "conversation" activities. I've got a bookmark on this at work, I'll post later today.
