Pretty new at this, just wanted to upload something for Grade 6- Lesson 14

its a thanksgiving ppt that in inherited. It's for American Thanksgiving with a bit of practice asking "would you like _______".    feel free to edit this one however it suits you

there doesnt seem to be a lesson 14 thread, so i just posted it here, hopefully the admin can sort it out

Here is a game I made to go with the 2nd period of lesson 14.  My co-teacher ended up changing plans at the last minute, so I did not get to try it out.  Therefore, I am not sure if 30 seconds is long enough or too long for the students to find words in the word search.  I was planning on just using my watch to keep track of how long the kids looked for words.  Much thanks to whoever originally posted the game templates that I combined.  If you decide to delete any slides, you will have to redo the hyperlinks.  Best of luck!

Here is a ppt i am going to use, i combined some of the ones already posted, it is a bit long but it should work fast. There is Mr. bean turkey on the head video hyperlinked in the turkey photo during the thanksgiving part just to break up the boredom.

Just FYI, It's "chutes" as in "laundry chute". 'Shoots' is used like 'I am going to shoot a gun!'.

hm some parts of the ppts for this lesson are a bit condescending... but I don't have to use them I suppose. Yes, the textbook presents some really irrelevant and stupid generalizations, but we should be more thoughtful about correcting them in a proper manner.

The clip at present is just the first half of the song. It's a pretty neat place to end it and the time comes out at 1:15. The lyrics to this are far closer to the learning goals of this unit than the textbook song ("Don't Verb your Object" is in the 3rd grade syllabus for crepe's sake!) Students seem to enjoy the pop culture reference images. I've got a better quality version around that came out at a stupidly large filesize if anyone wants to mess about with reducing it appropriately or getting it on Youtube or something. I hate dealing with Youtube. Contact me and we'll arrange some way of transferring the file to your expert hands. Thanks go to the awesome Ms Seo for helping with the translation column.

Took someones idea for snakes and ladders and made my own. There is a practice that goes with it to do beforehand.
If you don't have dice at your school, an easy way to sub is Rock Paper Scissors. Move 1 for rock, 2 for paper, 3 for scissors.
