Greetings from Ireland
« on: July 21, 2011, 06:42:19 AM »
Hi there, I'll be arriving in Korea in September. I'm completely new to teaching so I'm looking forward to all the days spent banging my head off a desk, trying to put lesson plans together for the next day!

Where about will you be teaching?
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.

Always great to have more Irish over here. I arrived here last December (so 7 mths here now and it absolutely flew). Believe me you will love it here. The people are friendly and the kids are generally good. You will be grand.
Make sure to bring a few home comforts if you can (Barry's teabags, Cadbury's chocolate, etc) because the food here is quite different so it's nice to have a bit of home. The wolfhound Irish pub in Seoul is good enough if you are really craving Irish-ish food, fish and chips etc.
Don't worry about the teaching most people fall into it easy enough, the first few days can be tough but once you know the routine you'll have no worries.
