Teach in Chuncheon
« on: September 03, 2010, 03:14:50 PM »
Hello, fellow English teachers.  I just created a blog.  While there aren't too many topics (yet), I wanted to create a blog designed for life in Chuncheon, and why it's an awesome place.  While people may wish to teach somewhere else, this site will make help in the future give guides to newcomers or those who want to tour this awesome place.

Enjoy ^^

I don't teach in a 학원 because I was fortunate enough to be placed in a public school here.  All I can say is that I have a friend who was fired from Lolly School when the reason didn't seem good enough.  He's not the only with problems - just do a Google search for other people's experiences.  Ironically, I have another friend that works there but there doesn't seem to be any problems.

The one problem with 학원's generally speaking is that you might possibly get screwed on your vacation.  The only advice I give is to avoid 학원's and teach in a public school.

Do your research is the only advice I can give - each school is different.

I do teach in a public school, the information is for a friend of mine she has already been accepted with Chungdamn (if you know of the company). She said she can hold out for a location to be placed, a friend said the gangnam location was good but doubt she'll get in there. So was just wondering what Chuncheon was so that she can base her decision on that. Thanks

It's always bothered me that it's romanized as hogwon in most places instead of "hagwon."
