Waygook's webserver has been upgraded, and users should notice a significant performance increase during peak site hours.  We will continue to monitor the servers for some time to ensure it meets the needs of the growing user base.  Thank you from the waygook team :)

Welcome to the Waygook community forums.  Feel free to browse the site, and sign up for a free account to have access to lesson plans.  Waygook is geared towards EFL/ESL teachers in South Korea, however we do like to cater and help out fellow waygookins all over.  We are also on facebook for convenience.

Summer Olympics
« on: August 27, 2011, 05:24:43 PM »
Hi ! My name is Daniela. I teach in Sunchang, Jeollabukdo, and I am trying to make five posts, so that I can get inspired by everyone else on Waygook. I'm struggling with finding inspiration to prepare classes for my high school students. I teach high and elementary school at the moment.
During my last elementary school summer camps, I did "Olympics" with my students. First we learnt all these different sports and then we proceeded to do our own "Olympics".
1. Throwing a ball into a box (at a certain distance)
2. balancing  a golf ball on a golf tee
3. hopping on one leg
4. sack race
5 running once around the school track
and many others (you add what you want). This was enjoyed so much by everyone, that every morning I arrived at school, I was greeted with only one word "Olympics".
The idea of doing Olympic games was inspired by one of my previous Korean co-teachers. At that time we were doing winter Olympics during Winter Camp.
Obviously you can change all the PPPs to suit your own needs.

This is a great lesson idea, especially for our kinesthetic learners! Excellent!

Hi Brad,

Thanks for your encouraging comment. What I need to know from you, since I am totally waygook illiterate, are my PPPs somewhere attached to what I sent, because I did upload them, but I have no idea where to find them.
Thanks
Daniela
