No...THE OLD MAN FIRST KICKED THE BLACK DUDE! Then, and only then did black dude headlock him.  Without old man kicking him, I'm pretty sure black dude would have just continued yelling.  The old man started the PHYSICAL assult.

I realize that video really impacts people that aren't very smart quite profoundly.  However, the evidence is.  The police in fact did not charge him because they had a full range of information.  Eye witnesses, CCTV, not just this YouTube partial video. 

1) Old man repeatedly yells at foreigner to shut up and go away, apparently he is NOT talking particularly loudly on his phone (not on video, but feel free to scan the Korean news sites).
2) Foreigner snaps, yelling at old man.
3) Old man KICKS foreigner. KICKS him in the shin!!!!!!!
4) Foreigner puts old guy in headlock.

This is why he's not in jail or being deported.  The Korean police, apparently not as dumb as many appalled at the scream-y black guy (wow, he's so scccaaaarrryyy), saw the evidence, listened to eye witness statements and decided it was a wash (i.e., old ajosshi was 50% at fault).

So my question is, what is up with all these white namby pamby fingernail biters almost universally blaming the black guy, when the Korean cops, with all the evidence blame the ajossi equally?  What is with you people?

I would say most people just see big black American guy standing over sitting little old Korean fellow showing off his rocks.

WOW! So you didn't watch the video?

I watched the video...if you can tell me how an old man...sitting in a WINDOW seat...with a woman standing between him and the American guy...was able to kick the guy in the shins...that would be enlightening.  Ever caught a bus in Korea?  Oh...and you condone the guy pushing and hitting that woman?  Look...the police might not have charged the guy...but that doesn't make what he did right. 

The police have attributed it all to a mis-understanding...that's fine...that's their business.  The OP wanted an update...and the update has been provided.  Endlessly making up 'facts' that have not appeared in the statements of the witnesses, the protagonists, or the police...isn't helpful.  All of these stupid lies attempting to demonize one person or the other...they do nothing more than propagate hate...and that's something that we don't need.

The facts are simple...the original thread about this was closed because people started manufacturing details and arguing.  Let's just leave it out hey?  If anyone disagrees with me, PM me or email me at burndoggy@hotmail.com.

Just because the police didn't charge him doesn't make his actions right.  Update has been given and upsets me he is still teaching in Korea.  I hope that he leaves of his own free will and best of luck to him just not in Korea.
