It hasn't at all...I like the fact that I'm not fitting in with the fruity fashion around here. I think most Korean guys dress like complete and utter tools.

I rock dress-style khakis and t-shirts/polo shirts for my days off (or shorts in the summer) and dress-style khakis and dress pants with dress shirts for work...I look like a man, not some confused Ken-doll raiding his mom's closet. ;)

Gender is a social construct.

When I was living in the states I never wore anything in my hair, since I've been here I've started wearing headbands all the time!

Back home I wore heels daily, did my hair, my make up, wore slacks or skirt, and a fitted (usually low cut)top. I really didn't feel complete without heels.... Here I've only worn heels maybe 2x's. I tend to wear jeans (or shorts) and a tshirt around home and my city... and to school I wear either jeans or a skirt and a semi-dressy tshirt. I'm country side and most koreans I see are sporting sweats. I wear my sweats in public and love it! I am complete dressed down compared to how I used to dress, it's been quite nice to not care so much about having the best brands and trends... my credit cards really appreciate the break!  :D

Back home I was a student and worked retail. My entire wardrobe consisted of khakis, work shirts, jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies. I'm also very thin and had trouble finding fitting clothing back home.

Once I got here and actually found clothing that fit and I could afford it... I have a lot nicer clothing. Slowly, over the year, I've been increasing my wardrobe and dressing up more and more at school. I can tell the students and staff appreciate it.

I still can't do the skirts up the... yeah, but I dig the lace and frills and whatnot a lot. And I have lots of color (compared to home where it was neutrals); pink, purple, blue, yellow, green... The only problem I have is the cut on the tops. I'm used to bare shoulders and backs with summer clothing, but I still buy them and just use a flimsy, sheer cover up top over my shoulders.
