Global Gestures (High School- Low)
« on: August 31, 2011, 08:30:18 PM »
This was for low level learners at an all girls commercial high school.

Students learned about global gestures during the time of the 2010 G20 event in Korea.  It was a good opportunity for the students to understand that global leaders have to be mindful of each country's differences in actions and their intended versus interpreted meaning.

The lesson was taught with as much interaction from the students as possible.  Students learned about different gestures and their meaning through videos and demonstration.  The betting game was both the activity and a review of what they learned.  After the lesson, students did a quick review.

Sorry that I'm unable to upload the video files b/c these are not acceptable formats on waygook.  Here were video demos I showed the classes:
- Italy, South Europe, India.  Greetings between young boys/girls from the USA, between boys only.  Handshakes from Africa, Middle East.  Greetings between two boys from Oman.
