About Cambodia:
Well we started off in Phnom Penh and stayed at about 10 mins from the airport. I can't for the life of me remember the name, but the only reason we booked there in advance was because we arrived in Phnom Penh pretty late on the friday eve. If I were you, I would try and fly straight to Siem Riep (if your planning on seeing the Temples~which you HAVE to!) As its a MUCH nicer city with much nicer places to stay etc.
Then I would recommend either having a squizz at accommodation using a google search or just do as we did, and get a Tuk Tuk to take you around. They wait for you, and you feel absolutely no obligation to stay at the first one they show you. Also then you can go into the place and check it out, and if its horrible just ask the driver to show you another one...easy
Then we took a night bus (which is booked by most of the guest houses/motels) and headed to Sihnoukville, where we went to Koh Rong Saloem (Lazy Island). Here is a link to their website:

But we had an absolutely wonderful time there, it was paradise!
