HOW TO SEARCH THIS SITE
« on: September 05, 2011, 06:41:01 pm »
Before posting a new topic, PLEASE try searching first.

I prefer using Google to search this site (and other forums).

- type "site:waygook.org [search term]" without the quotes

                 - for example, site:waygook.org sending money home

Otherwise, use the search function located at the top-right corner.

Thanks!

Search this site using Google by typing, "site:waygook.org [search term]," especially during peak hours. Alternatively, use the site's search function.

Sorry you got me a little confused are you saying its better to search through google.com rather than use the search option on waygook.com?  I'm a new ESL teacher and have trying to search for information on transfering money from my bank account in the U.S. to the bank NH. Does anyone know of any other banks that charge less fees than NH?
Thanks,
Anthony

Read the Sending Money Home FAQ in "Life in Korea."

I prefer using Google to search the site. Try both to see what YOU prefer.

eh?  The best option for me is to click the SEARCH link beside Home and Help.  Go to Advanced Search and click which areas I want to search for.  So if i want a lesson plan on Introductions I would search INTRODUCTIONS in all lesson planning threads.

Google search definitely comes out with more results than the search bar in the corner.

Faster Search on Waygook.org
« Reply #6 on: September 20, 2011, 03:01:21 pm »
I just wanted to start off by saying I have no problem with the waygook search engine, and I still prefer it over this method. However, I just thought I would mention this to save people some time during the peak hours.  This isn't anything new or ground breaking, but it might help you.

So, here is my problem.  I've been having trouble navigating through this website during the afternoons.  I'm just going to assume this isn't a problem that's just affecting me.  So, I'd like to suggest something that might save you some time and reduce some of the stress on their servers during these peak hours.  I've been using a simple Google command which still takes time, but it is faster.

If you just type what you're looking for, then include the addition sign along with the website's name.  You can directly get to your desired search query.

For example I would type this into the google search engine:  Angry bird bomb game + waygook.org

By doing this it will take you directly to the links in waygook.org that contain that file or phrase. This next part is pretty self explanatory, but just in case you didn't see it. If you click on "waygook.org more results" usually underneath the first google search query you tried.  It will give you a lot of other links within the waygook.org site that you can browse through.   This also saves time so you don't have to type in many different searches from within the site during these peak hours.

I hear that wiring money home only costs 10,000 won. I have a bank account with KEB--thats the fee for me. I dont know what the fees are at other banks, but I cant imagine it be that much different.
