CAN'T OPEN PPTX? READ HERE

Davey:
If you use Office 2003, you won't be able to open 2007 files (pptx, docx, etc.) by default. However, by downloading and installing the following pack, you'll be able to open, edit, and save 2007 files using Office 2003.

It would be better if people didn't post pptx (or any of the other brain-dead new Microsoft formats- docx, xlsx etc.).

Number 1 reason - I can't install any software on my PC at school.

Number 2 reason - I don't want to.  If you want me to read your stuff then publish it in an accessible format.

@ lotte world, that was a bit harsh.

A bit harsh?

Let's see.  Let's assume 1) Everyone can read .ppt files, 2) not everyone can read .pptx files and 3) I want my material to be read by everyone.

Which format should I use to make things very easy for the most number of people?  Hmm, .ppt.

Or conversely,

I'll release my work in a a format that many people can't use, which will lead to a stream of confusion culminating in a message posted to *every thread* about how to fix it, assuming of course that the fix is available to you and doesn't break something else.

It's up to you.
