Nothing at the moment, but lately I've been listening to Orbs a lot. I'd be surprised if anyone here knows them, but it's made up of members of Fear Before the March of Flames, Between the Buried & Me, and Cradle of Filth. Prog rock.

I've been listening since yesterday afternoon and I'm almost halfway done.

It's pretty wild.. and, of course, there are quite a few repetitive sections. It's not their best work, but it's not bad and they do mix things up every now and then. It's sort of like something you'd have on at a party so you wouldn't have to feel the need to be completely engaged by it but you know it's there.

Also, Zaireeka is totally great... I was lucky enough to get it in my first year of Uni, so I was in residence and getting 4 CD players was easy. It's also good musically.

I was definitely on the whole Pitchfork-indie rotation in college and afterwards, with Bob Dylan and Neil Young thrown in for good measure. I still largely enjoy that type of music--went on a big Black Keys kick recently--but this past year it's been a lot of female singers. Florence & the Machine, Bat For Lashes, Lykke Li, Joanna Newsom...and recently just straight-up pop. I've become a bit obsessed with Lady Gaga,

. . . and lately, well, it's been Katy Perry on pretty heavy rotation. It's so fun and uplifting, I can't listen to bearded men go about failed relationships all the time.

I think I heard part of it and it wasn't so great but that could be because it was only 1/12th of the song or something. I haven't been so into the compilations they've been doing lately either... they all sound sort of tossed off or something.

But I'm still happy they're doing what they're doing-- mostly because they've evolved into less of a psychedelic rock band and are now just these crazy 50 year olds coming up with messed up ideas in what I can only imagine to be giant tinfoil beehives connected to spaceships built from designs on napkins found in the cafeterias of secret Antarctic insane asylums.

And I liked pitchfork before they were popular...
