Let me be the first to say that you sir are a gentleman. The Pokemon game totally rocked in my third grade class. They were noisy and shouting and wouldn't respond to my bells for quiet, but that's a good thing; they're usually quiet and try to fly under the radar. I pretended to be angry with them, but my co-teacher and I were secretly patting ourselves on the back. Having the poke ball shake around a bit before revealing the Pokemon was pure genius. It built up anticipation and I don't know any of the monsters beyond the original 150, but there were a lot of good controversy as to which monster merited certain XP. I wasn't sure about the Team Rocket part, but it worked out brilliantly when one team was collecting too much XP and everybody was brought back to a clean slate.
Overall, brilliant game. My favorite bomb game so far. Look forward to what else you've got cooking for us.
Thank you! I'm thrilled and flattered that you and your students had so much fun with it.
I'll admit that I'm not current on the Pokemon of 2011 either, ahaha. You may see a little bias for the original 150 that I'm also familiar with. One student told me that Alakazam (5 points in the game) is a weak Pokemon. I could have sworn he was a beast when I played back in the day.
I think the "all teams lose points" slide is a good one for games. When one team loses points, it's kind of a bummer, but if everyone loses points, even the winning team isn't too upset because the field is level again.
Thanks for the comment!
This looks awesome and I'm sure my kids will absolutely love it!
Want to use it for my Grade 4 class on Friday...
I downloaded the fonts and did everything as you said but I don't have any points on mine... just the Pokemon appearing from the bubble.
I saw on the preview slides that there were xp points on the slides... I don't know where I've gone wrong?
The XP and "XYZ has been caught!" text should appear automatically after the moving ball has been clicked.
I would open up microsoft word and try checking to see if the required fonts are on the font list. If they aren't, they may not have been properly installed.
Let me know.
Phenomenal. Thanks for an amazing game.
I had one glitch with the Team Rocket slide. Clicking the 'R' does not send me back to the homepage; there is no link that I can find on the Team Rocket slide.
Cheers
Wow, you're right. That's a big problem. I'm not sure how that slipped out of the final version. I fixed it and am trying to upload it but Waygook is moving slower than a snail's pace and giving me internet problems 3/4 into upload. I'll re-upload it as soon as I get home today.
Thanks for the glitch notice, I appreciate it.
