I have an opening in Gangnam for a dedicated, fastidious, and intelligent TOEFL and SAT teacher with a proven track record of success. An ideal candidate will have graduated from an American university ranked in the top 50 and have at least 2 years of test-prep teaching experience. Professional writing/editing experience is a big plus.
The terms and conditions for the position are as follows:
Position Title: TOEFL/SAT Instructor (speaking/writing focus for TOEFL, reading/writing for SAT)
Contract Period: 1 year minimum
Start Date: December 2011
Location: Seoul, Gangnam-gu
Student Age: 5th grade elementary to high school
Average Class Size: 4 - 12 students
Current Number of Teachers: 12 full-time teachers
Salary: 4.0-5.0 million won per month starting; substantial annual raises based on performance
Vacation: 10 days and all national holidays
Housing: not provided
Visa: E-2 visa sponsorship if necessary
Airfare: not provided
Medical Insurance: yes
Pension: yes
Severance Pay: provided upon completion of 1-year contract
The requirements for applicants are:
Education: Bachelor's degree from a top-ranked American university required; Education, English, or Linguistics major and/or Master's strongly preferred
Experience: Minimum 2 years of test-prep teaching experience; professional writing/editing experience preferred
Citizenship: US citizens only
Certification: TESOL, TEFL, TESL, or CELTA preferred
Location: Applicants must currently be in South Korea
Documents: All documents required by immigration for E-2 visa
