Is there any Diet Coke in Korea
« on: September 29, 2011, 10:25:11 AM »
This may seem like a very silly question, but does anyone know where I can buy some Diet Coke? I live in Ulsan and have been searching around since I arrived, but I cannot find anything except Coke Zero or regular Coke. Any suggestions would be welcome.  ;

Yep. You can get silver-can Diet Coke just like back home (It's called Coke Lite or Light here, though) and it is in smaller cans than home. I think they're 280mL. It's in almost all E-Marts or Homeplus. Also Costco if you have a membership. Even some small convenience stores have it.

Enjoy!

Lotte Mart, EMart, HomePLus and some 7-11's carry it. It does exist here!

Diet Coke is called Cola Lite 고라 라이트 here.  Try Home Plus if you want a good chance at finding it.  Kim's Club is another place where I Have seen Diet Coke on the shelves.  If you try Home Plus, you may have to go back to the soda shelves in the rear of the store to find six packs or two liter bottles of room temperature Diet Coke.

You're right, though, Coke Zero is more prevalent than Diet Coke/Coke Light in Korea.

Kim's Club is fantastic for foreign foods.

Also, forgot to mention - you can get Diet Coke (Coke Lite) in both plastic and cans.

Yeah, Kim's Club is your best bet, but if you don't have one near you, the best place I have discovered (since I am also an addict of the stuff and the convenience stores seem to stock Coke Zero 95% of the time) is Daiso. There is a Daiso everywhere, I am sure. You can find it in cans and bottles int he fridge near the snack food section. Mmm, mashita!
