Grade 4, Lesson 10 - Where is the Basket? (Judy Yin Book)
« on: September 29, 2011, 02:06:07 pm »
Short bomb game.

I used a template and edited in some key expressions from the lesson. It's good for replacing "Have Fun 1" especially if you have a big class.

Feel free to DL and modify  :)

Since this lesson is primarily about prepositions, that's what I am focusing on.  Attached here is the game "draw the scene" which someone else made and I am just putting it here.
Also attached are MES flashcards.

Here's some more stuff that I got from here, but edited to fit our book. This is probably the only lesson I don't hate in the whole book.

more stuff I got from here for this lesson. This is good for period three. I should say period 3a because I do role play separate from talking time and Hi world. So I'm combining this with talking time and hi world.

Here's a homework assignment I created but can also be used for classwork.
Also attached is the video for the "On, In, Under" bug ppt game in my first post.

Here's some more stuff I got from here for prepositions. Two suggestions for the mini-book. 1) Show Simon's cat video on the same day as this activity, and 2) before you copy it (to distribute) draw a lines (preferably dotted ones) on the fold spots to make it easier for the kiddies.

Here is a homework assignment I found on the 5th grade board and revamped. You can use as two separate assignments or you can do what I did and make it a front and back assignment.
I hope you can use it.

I have created a Thief/Superman story that teaches prepositions. Hope it's useful.

Here's a clap game that I used in period 4 to review the key sentences. The student's loved it.
