World food day
« on: October 17, 2011, 01:46:09 pm »
 :D Hello.

Yesterday was "World food day".

We thought about the poor and talked about how to take action for them.

We saw one of a video clip from youtube.com.

There was a photo of an African boy who was dying from hunger.

I am glad you dealt with this topic. I have one comment though, showing a picture of an African person starving tends to reinforce the perception here that all of Africa is poor and starving, they see it on TV all the time.

I am a white South African and at first they can't believe I am African and white and secondly they can't understand that there are in fact developed countries in Africa.

So, yes I would also comment that there are huge problems in Africa with this sort of thing, but there are some areas that are as developed and as rich as Korea.

Good on you for doing something positive though.  :D
Everything is not as it seems.
