Middle School English 3

Does anyone use this book? It has a picture of 7 Caucasian students smiling on the cover. I'm always trying to think up ideas on how to use the awkward phrases and bizarre definitions.

Right now, i'm teaching Lesson 11: It's in your genes and Lesson 12: I wish i could visit them all.

I welcome any suggestions on ways of making the material more exciting for the students.

I don't use that textbook but sounds like other teachers have no luck when it comes to textbooks. You have give a precise description of these phrases, they are just 'awkward' and so random. I can't see any points in the different phrases they present in each chapter. How are we supposed to connect them by an overaching theme?
