I made a rather advanced boardgame for this lesson, though I never got a chance to use it in my own class, maybe it will be of help to someone else.
To play the game, divide the class into groups 3-6 groups should work fine. Have each group choose their favorite color, that is the color of their ship.
Individual students take turns deciding whether the weather will be warm, cool, or crazy. Press the button on the game board that corresponds to the weather that they choose. The student who called the weather says, "Can you help me?" If the ship has sunny weather ahead they can move forward they say, "Sure I can." If they have a different type of weather that team says, "Sorry, I can't. It's rainy" or whatever weather they have infront of them.
The first team to the end wins.
To move a boat, click on it and it will follow your cursor. Click where you want it to stop and it will stay there.
This works best with Powerpoint 2003 and requires macros to be enabled, It doesn't work well with interactive whiteboards.
Good Luck.
