it was a hit. Ss loved this activity. Me myself, too. It was great time for me to learn recent songs.

Thanks so much for this.  I did find that it was a bit TOO easy for my grade 3 middle schoolers, so I decided to let them answer with only the lyrics showing and if they needed to see the video or hear the clip, they had to sacrifice half of the point value of the question.
You are suppose to only show them the lyrics.  The video is the 'prize' they get for getting it right.  Only once in all of my classes did I just give up and show them the video after they didn't get any of my clues (I guess no one was an IU fan) and even then they had difficulty naming the song.
Hope that helps.  Never show more than the lyrics.

Thank you so much for the hard work! I was looking something better than a movie to give my graduating 3rd graders and this will do nicely ;)

Hi, thank you for all your hard work.

Just a quick question. What is the difference between the different files.
Kpopslam2 (82megs),
kpopslam2 revised (303megs)
and then there is another version which is 270megs.

Thanks again ^^

The fonts on the lyric pages are kind of messed up for me.

Could anyone please post which fonts (it looks like maybe two) were intended to be used for the "I wish I could remember..." and then for the actual lyrics?

Thanks so much. Will be easier to find and download the fonts instead of going into each slide and changing them myself manually....

thanks!

Wonderful lesson, I have so much fun teaching this to my students.

The hints are helpful as well! Thanks for those.

Some suggestions I have learned this week...

Jay Park - Nothing on You is tough for a lot of my classes
I try to tell them he used to be a member of 2PM

I also cut back to the main point page early during Brown Eyed Girls - Sixth Sense to cut off the last shot of the Narsha looking topless!

Dalmation - That Man Opposed -- If I can get a student to say the word  "Opposed" with boy or man I take it

Humming wedding song helps for Taeyang - Wedding Dress!

Rain - I do is tough for my students
Tell them Name of singer is opposite of sun, etc.

K POP SLAM 3 (I love K POP) Music Core
« Reply #47 on: December 23, 2011, 09:55:44 am »
OK. I have spent about 16 hours making a new KPOP SLAM 3 titled (I love K pop). All of the music is from 2011 and it has been produced using photoshop. Can anyone give me any advice on how to zip the file?

many thanks for these games. just one question relating to both k-pop slam 1 and 2. both times when i have played them, none of the "surprise" slides have appeared during the game. (shinee surprise, onew condition in game 1, and language surprises in game 2). should they appear at random or do i need to activate them in some way?

thanks

Go to http://www.rarlab.com/ and download WinRAR. After it's installed you can use the Wizard to compress everything in a .rar file.

I've been waiting all year to do a KPop English lesson, and I am in awe of this lesson!  It far exceeds the ideas I had in mind.  Thanks for the many, many hours you put into creating this.  I'll be piloting it in my co-ed high school today, so we'll see how it goes!  One of my most active classes meets today, so I'm eager to see how this goes over with them.  Again, I can't thank you enough for the work and time that went into this.  I've play-tested it myself and it seems very intuitive to use, particularly so with the extensive notes you attached.  Thanks Dexter86 (and Shawol for the original design)!

Thank you SO much! My high school girls LOVED (no exaggeration--there was enthusiastic dancing on top of desks and chairs) the original K-Pop Slam. This will be another great game for the semester!   :D

thanks for sharing
I use pop songs in my class and some of the students always begs be to listen to Kpops . I always said no because I found no reason to listen to Korean songs in a English class. However, with this activity I think I can motivate my student more. They will have what they wanted and learn English!

Thank you Dexter!  Awesome game...students loved it.

One little change I made in the rules...I allowed the language surprise to be a choice for the winning team...they could open it or leave.  If they left it then I auctioned it off to the rest of the teams...tonnes o fun!

Thanks again.

This is so cool! I want to use this with my middle school kids...particularly a few of my classes that don't seem to be interested in any of the activities that I do with them. Unfortunately, all of the video and audio files you used are in .wmv format and I can't use them cuz I have a Mac. I'm gonna see if I can convert the files to a format I can use.
