Hey, I just did this with my low-level Middle School Grade Twos for a review of vocabulary I have been teaching them. You could also use it for target phrases or other vocabulary. I also attached the pictures in a separate file so that you can do a quick review to make sure that they know what the pictures are of.
Anyway, it's called "Bomb Darts," and the powerpoint itself is pretty self-explanatory. You have the kids get into teams and make paper planes. They throw it at the dart board, and whatever they hit, you click. There are numbers and bombs. If they hit a number, you click the number, and a picture will appear (I pre-taught these vocabulary, but you can change it to whatever pictures you want - just remember to hyperlink back to slide 7). They have to quickly make a sentence with five words (you can definitely make it more). If they make a mistake, call it a free-for-all and have all of your teams try to make a sentence as quickly as possible. If they hit a bomb, click the bomb, and their team loses points.
The words "Lose ____ Points" are hyperlinked to go back to the board, so just click that. The pictures I have in the powerpoint are also hyperlinked to go back to the board. Also, make sure to put the sound file in the same folder as the powerpoint, or there won't be a bomb noise!
It's really easy, and the kids loved it. The best part is that they are learning as they make the sentences, too. My kids don't know how to use articles, but they caught on fairly quickly when I drew a blank at the beginning of their sentences (or wherever they were missing something).
I hope this works for someone!
