What to start RUNNING??
« on: November 02, 2011, 01:21:33 PM »
There is a beginning running group starting on Saturday November 5th, and continuing every Saturday for through the winter. It is just for beginners or people looking to begin again!!! So if you are curious about running, want to try a new hobby, want to meet some new fun people, or have taken some time off running and want to come back to it... this is for you!!

We will meet at Ichon Station (Line 4, exit 4 near the 7-11 on the Han River). 8am Saturday Mornings

We will talk about proper stretching, running gear, nutrition, etc.

We will help encourage you to get out and run! Specially in the cold winter!! We will start with a 5k run, but you don't have to run all 5k, run what you can, then enjoy a yummy breakfast with us at Paris Croissant!

Do you know of any Marathons that are run round Korea, that we can work towards?  I find that having a certain race in mind is a big motivator,  I just ran 10km a week ago, but it was in the Gyangsangnamdo.  Any information in this regard will be helpfull.

There is practically a race every weekend here!!! But the next BIG one is the Seoul International Marathon, it's at the end of March!! Registration for it opens in November. You can always look at www.smilerun.com for a list of races. Personally, I'm a member of the seoul flyers and love that they register for races for you and take care of transportation for any races far away... you should check us out!

In everywhere , there were lots of Marathon events. But in my case, I recommend some of half marathons or less.
I'm the beginner of it. so I think I need many stuff like running shoes, suit, hat even time, etc. But It's not good thinking. Just do it right now wherever you want to run.
